Step by Step: Enter, Wait, Review#
Running a scan is straightforward. Go to the AgentReady™ homepage and enter the URL you want to analyze. You can scan any publicly accessible website — your own, a competitor's, or a client's.
Once you submit the URL, AgentReady™ begins its analysis. The scan typically takes 15 to 45 seconds depending on the size and complexity of the site. During this time, the system checks your site across all eight AI readiness factors, from schema markup to bot access to content quality.
When the scan completes, you will see your overall AI Readiness Score (0-100), your letter grade, and a breakdown of how you performed on each factor. Below the score, you will find a prioritized list of issues with specific recommendations for improvement.
What the Score Means#
Your AI Readiness Score is a number from 0 to 100. It is calculated by evaluating eight weighted factors and combining them into a single score. The score is then mapped to a letter grade so you can quickly understand where you stand.
Scores above 80 (A grade) mean your site is well-prepared for AI discovery. Most AI systems can read, understand, and cite your content effectively. Scores between 55 and 79 (B and C+ grades) mean you have a solid foundation but there are clear areas for improvement. Scores below 55 mean AI systems are likely struggling with your site.
For a full breakdown of every grade and what it means, see the grade scale reference. Remember that the average website scores in the low C range, so even a B grade puts you ahead of most sites.
What to Do with Your Results#
Your scan results include more than just a number. They include a prioritized list of issues, each tagged with an impact level (high, medium, or low) and the factor it affects.
Start with the high-impact issues. These are the changes that will move your score the most. Common high-impact fixes include updating your
robots.txt to allow AI crawlers, adding Organization schema markup, and restructuring content to lead with direct answers.
You do not need to fix everything at once. Pick the top two or three issues, make the changes, and rescan. AgentReady™ is designed for iterative improvement. Each scan gives you an updated score so you can track your progress over time. For detailed fix guides, see the fixes section.Related Pages
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I rescan my site?
We recommend rescanning after every round of changes you make. For ongoing monitoring, a weekly or biweekly scan is a good cadence. AI readiness can change as you add content, update plugins, or modify server configurations.
Can I scan a competitor's website?
Yes. AgentReady™ scans publicly accessible information only, so you can scan any public website. Comparing your score to competitors is a great way to identify opportunities and prioritize fixes.
